FREE LIVE WORKSHOP

Reducing Anxiety Through Somatic Expression

Friday, December 13th

5pm PST / 8pm EST

In this FREE training, I'll teach you how to reduce anxiety through somatic expression so that you can feel less overwhelmed by ruminating thoughts, less stressed by ALL you have to do (which can be the case especially now, during the holiday season!) and more grounded & peaceful, even if you have a lot on your plate.

Somatic refers to BODY, so somatic experiencing of anxiety means that you're going to regulate your anxiety using various techniques involving your BODY.

Regulating your anxiety through the body is based on the idea that when we first address the bodily signs of anxiety (shallow breathing, rapid heart rate, jitters, discomfort in the stomach etc), we are then able to bring calmness and relaxation to our mind as well.

Most people try to do it the other way around and struggle to feel better.

This workshop shows you a faster relief from anxiety symptoms by addressing the body first.

This workshop is for you if the following describes you:

In Your BODY:

  • Your heart is often racing
  • Your breathing is shallow and fast
  • Your muscles are tight and tense
  • You are hyper-aware of every noise, light and smell and also other people's expressions and moods
  • You are jittery and have a lot of nervous energy in you
  • You can't sit still
  • You feel uncomfortable when slowing down so you tend to avoid it.

You Often FEEL:

  • Worried, you can't stop thinking about worst case scenarios
  • Urgent and rushed like everything needs to be done right NOW
  • Unable to calm down, no matter how many times you tell yourself that you should
  • Chaotic, so that you often jump from task to task or distract yourself constantly
  • Indecisive: You ask others opinions about small things and go back and forth many times before making a decision
  • Restless, so that even if you try to calm down, your body is still antsy
  • Like you've done something bad!

Your MIND:

  • Needs to do everything RIGHT NOW
  • Doesn't allow you to rest because that seems lazy
  • Is always expecting for the "other shoe to drop"
  • Is constantly worried about making others angry or otherwise uncomfortable
  • Is always second guessing whether what you did was good enough
  • Tells you that you need to be perfect and that there's no room for error, ever
  • Assumes that other people are constantly judging you.

These are all signs of anxiety and somatic experiencing can help!

In this workshop, we're doing practical exercises that help you to switch out of the anxious state, whether it shows up as irritability, constant worry, rumination or people-pleasing, and replacing it with calm, relaxation and ease.

With the somatic practices in this FREE workshop, we're targeting the physiological signs of anxiety by using somatic techniques. As a result, your INTERNAL STATE shifts to more calm and grounded and your MIND CHATTER will quiet down as well.

You get relief from anxiety much faster than you would by just talking or writing about it!

This workshop NOT a silent mindfulness meditation class. Be prepared to MOVE your body -- we're going to do some shaking, tapping and other movements, and we're even using our voices. You can always turn your camera off if you feel more comfortable this way!

At the end of the workshop, you will feel lighter physically and mentally. Your mind is clear, the sense of urgency is replaced with ease and lightness, and the nervous energy with relaxation and contentment.
